Opal Rings – The Birthstone For October

    Opal Ring

As any discerning Libra will know, opal is the chosen gemstone for those born in October. Opal is also the gemstone for celebrating 14th and 18th wedding anniversaries.

As part of a year long Gregorian Birthstone Poem, October’s verse quotes opal as the remedy for troubles.

October’s child is born for woe
    And life’s vicissitudes must know
But lay an opal on her breast
And hope will lull those woes to rest

(Published in 1870 by Tiffany & Co, author unknown)

Rings containing opal are the most intriguing of gemstones with their rainbow of colours burning inside. Wearing an opal ring represents hope, innocence, purity, loyalty and confidence.
