Rings.org.uk is the UK’s number one rings comparison site and also one of the best places for advice choosing your engagement rings, wedding rings and simply rings for any and every occasion. As well as offering a huge selection of over 15,000 stunning rings to customers in the UK and beyond you might find the following places inspiration to make your proposal unique and extremely special.

With thousands of romantic locations to choose from in the UK alone rings have been exchanged on Cornwall’s sunset beaches, ancient monuments like Stonehenge and contemporary cultural landmarks such as the London Eye and Blackpool Tower.

If you’re looking for somewhere quiet and secluded to propose to your girlfriend or partner look no further than the rugged coastline of Cornwall. With beaches off the map and quiet splash of the waves you can write your names in the sand. Remember to take a picnic rug to wrap around you when you watch the winter sunset after giving her the engagement ring so you can make the special moment last longer.

Rings given at ancient monuments have a beauty that cannot be described. The still calm of the ancient wisdom blessing your relationship will imprint in your mind forever. Choosing one of the stone circles to celebrate the next step of your relationship is something your friends will envy, wishing they’d had the idea themselves.

Finally, like proposing in New York or Paris receiving your engagement ring in the UK’s capital can be very exciting. With the hustle of the city escaping for a moment to overlook the world from the capital’s landmark known throughout the world is something you’ll both remember. Giving her the engagement ring from the London Eye, in Hyde Park, a Starbucks café or simply walking down the street is pure romance.

Remember though, it’s not the size of the ring or the grandeur of the location. Your words and your proposal are all that matters.

For a stunning choice of engagement rings and wedding rings look no further than Rings.org.uk, the UK’s number one rings comparison site. Choose and order your rings securely online through Rings.org.uk.

Engagement rings come in many different shapes and sizes. Whilst this offers a massive choice of engagement rings choosing the size is as important as choosing the ring itself. At Rings.org.uk we have tips to help you choose the right size rings.

Perhaps the easiest way is to go into your local jeweller or High Street store and have your finger measured for the correct ring size. If you can’t get to the High Street or you want the ring to be a surprise there are alternative ways to measure for a ring.

If you are buying an engagement ring for your girlfriend or partner check her jewellery box for rings she may already own. Then simply measure around the circumference or edge for the centimetre or millimetre measurement.

Tip: Try using a tape measure as this will be more accurate than rolling the ring along a flat ruler.

When you have the measurement, check out the ring sizes using the Ring Size Chart at Rings.org.uk. Your measurement will correspond with one of the UK ring sizes such as size N, size R etc. This is your girlfriend or partner’s ring size and you can now shop online to find her the perfect engagement ring.

But if you’re still unsure or if she doesn’t own any rings you can estimate her engagement ring size and still buy the perfect ring online. If you’re way out on your estimate and the ring is too big or too small you will be able to resize the ring so she has the perfect fit for the perfect engagement ring you’re giving to her.

You’ll find a wide choice of perfect engagement rings at Rings.org.uk. Buy with confidence from trusted High Street and online retailers who will deliver your rings safely to your home or workplace.

Engagement rings are the most desirable of rings not just...

Engagement rings are the most desirable of rings not just for their beauty but because they are the worldwide symbol of a defined relationship embarking on the journey towards marriage and lifelong commitment.

Around 73% of brides will choose or influence the choice of their engagement ring. Perhaps a subtle hint towards an emerald engagement ring or a nudge towards a dazzling diamond engagement ring will help him choose. Many couples choose their engagement rings together either in the High Street or browsing online at Rings.org.uk for the perfect rings.

Rings are part of your personality and choosing the right rings is incredibly important. After all your engagement ring might well sit on the third finger of your left hand for the rest of your life. With your favourite gemstone chosen you’ll want to pick the style or cut and there are many to choose from.

Emerald Cut Rings

Not to be confused with an emerald ring with an emerald gemstone proudly on display. The emerald cut refers to an edgy rectangular shape for the gemstone. Diamonds with an emerald cut are sleek, chic and very fashionable. Prince Charles gave an emerald cut ring to Camilla Parker Bowles firmly establishing Royal connections to this fabulous design.

Round Cut Rings

Engagement rings with the traditional round gemstones are solid, reliable and beautiful rings that let light unfold deep into the diamond, sapphire or other precious stone. Solitaire diamond engagement rings often use the round shape to emphasise the deep beauty of the diamond ring.

Oval Rings

Oval engagement rings are modern and sophisticated. The stretched shape adds a new dimension to the traditional round cut and is the design favoured by Hollywood star Katie Holmes. Oval engagement rings offer many choices of elegant rings as well as dress rings and everyday rings you’ll love to wear.

Marquise Rings

The marquise engagement ring is similar to the oval ring that can make a diamond ring look larger or more expensive than the diamond it might really contain. These engagement rings are big, bold and perfect to make a statement about your engagement.

Pear Rings

Rings with stones cut in the shape of a pear or tear drop are charming and enchanting. A different cut than round or oval, the pear shape ring effortlessly encompasses both designs with a gentle twist that suits women of all ages. These engagement rings are fabulous with diamonds, rubies, olive green peridot and many popular gemstones.

Princess Rings

Princess rings or princess cut rings are truly saving the best for last. This exquisite gentle square shaped cut is one of the most coveted and desirable cuts for any diamond engagement ring. On the face of the ring the princess cut is square shaped but below is an upturned pyramid of outstanding style and beauty to reflect and refract the light making the brilliant colours shine through the engagement ring.

At Rings.org.uk you’ll find an amazing selection of over 10,000 rings from leading online brands such as The Diamond Store and High Street names you know and trust. Buy your engagement rings online with absolute confidence. Choose Rings.org.uk as the first place to find beautiful rings you’ll love to wear and stunning rings you’ll want to buy for the ones you love.

This stylish diamond and blue sapphire ring is a modern take on a vintage design and is crafted in 9ct yellow gold and set with diamonds and blue sapphire.

Diamonds are the birthstone for April and sapphire is the birthstone for September. Combining these two precious gemstones in this chic design is surely a token of utmost love and affection. Sensuous sapphire contains the cool blue gemstone to remind you of summer days and ocean bliss with sparkling diamonds dazzling in the sunshine.

Prince William chose this ring with a history of sentimental memories that will be carried through the next generation. The calming blue sapphire ring has a conservative tone that can be worn on any finger including the traditional ring finger reserved for engagement rings and wedding rings.

Emerald engagement rings have the unique glow of nature. The deep forest emerald green colouring comes to light when the emerald gemstone is set in rings of silver and rings of gold. Add diamonds to your emerald engagement rings to symbolise the past, present and future of your friendship and relationship.

Emerald engagement rings are the popular choice for couples becoming engaged in May as emerald is the gemstone for May and the birthstone for those born in May and under the Taurus star sign. Bright green emerald is a symbol of spring turning to summer and the promise of happy days enjoying the sunshine.

The emeralds in emerald engagement rings are found in many parts of the world from the USA to Brazil, Columbia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Russia and more. Emerald is from the beryl mineral family and takes its colouring through traces of chromium or vanadium. The rarest emeralds are trapiche emeralds with spoke patterns that look like stars. These highly coveted emeralds found deep in the mines of Columbia are rare and feature in exclusive emerald engagement rings.

Whilst emerald engagement rings are popular emerald can also be used as an emerald friendship ring, an emerald eternity ring or an emerald anniversary ring. Emerald anniversary rings are given to celebrate 20th wedding anniversaries, 35th wedding anniversaries and 55th wedding anniversaries.

Lush green emeralds are associated with friendship, faithfulness and loyalty and in health emerald rings are a source for relieving spine problems and headaches. Emeralds are a traditional gemstone for your emerald engagement rings belong to a history of over 4,000 years where emerald jewellery is among the top four gemstones along with ruby, sapphire and diamond.

Emerald green suits most people and emerald engagement rings can be complemented with other emerald jewellery such as an emerald necklace or emerald earrings. Treat yourself to emerald rings from Rings.org.uk the leading rings comparison site in the UK.
Is Asking Permission For Marriage From A Bride-To-Be’s Father A...

Is Asking Permission For Marriage From A Bride-To-Be’s Father A Dying Art?

Since Prince William asked for Kate Middleton’s hand in marriage last month there has been much speculation in the press about the bride-to-be’s sapphire engagement ring – one of the most talked about rings in the world – but much less interest in the circumstances in which the nation’s favourite Prince proposed.

We know that the couple had been talking about marriage for some time and that William proposed on holiday in Kenya with his late mother Princess Diana’s sapphire engagement ring, yet a lesser known fact is that the Prince didn’t ask Kate’s father for his daughter’s hand in marriage until AFTER he proposed.

That news came as quite a surprise to seasoned Royal watchers given the importance of tradition and honour in the British Royal family, but others have defended the move saying it merely reflected the Prince’s modern outlook on life.

The truth is that most men these days DON’T ask a woman’s father for permission to marry.

Perhaps it is the fear of rejection before they even pop the question, or that they think the practice is antiquated or even misogynistic; the key is it is undoubtedly a declining trend.

At Rings.org.uk, we think the most important thing is to propose in style and you can see how to do just that with our informative Top 5 Tips For Proposing article.

Every girl wants a special proposal and they don’t come...

Every girl wants a special proposal and they don’t come more special than this. At the end of her day’s work, Sam Woodward was waiting outside her office in Poole, Dorset, at the bus stop when her boyfriend and bus driver Phill Openshaw drove up in his double decker.

According to Metro.co.uk, before setting out Phill had changed the digital display on his Wilts and Dorset bus to read “Sam, will you marry me?” Phill stopped the bus and met Sam on the pavement with an engagement ring in his hand. Without hesitation, Sam agreed and the happy couple will tie the knot shortly.

Unusual proposals are extremely popular, check out the unusual owl delivered engagement ring as part of Jason Jenkins from Stoke on Trent’s proposal to his girlfriend Melissa Bowen.
Everyone loves Twitter. So why not tell everyone you got engaged using the mega popular social networking site. Don’t tell them, tweet them. That’s exactly what celebrity Evelyn Lozada did when Chad Ochocinco gave her a gorgeous engagement ring four months into their relationship.

Lozada posted a photo of her ring on her Twitter page, telling followers “I’m no rabbit but 10 carats looks good on me!” The couple haven’t yet planned a wedding date but intend to stay engaged for some time before the big day.

At Rings.org.uk, we say 10 carats looks good on everyone. Check out the fantastic collection of over 10,000 rings to suit every budget and every special occasion at Rings.org.uk.
